Varicose Vein Care in New Zealand
If varicose veins are causing aching, heaviness, swelling or discomfort, you may have more than one treatment option available. Today, many varicose veins can be managed using minimally invasive procedures rather than traditional surgery, depending on the individual case. The right approach depends on how your veins are functioning rather than simply how they look. At Advanced Vascular, Dr Maged Aziz provides a range of modern varicose vein treatments, with every recommendation guided by a consultation and detailed ultrasound assessment.
Your Assessment Comes First
Modern Treatment Options
Every patient’s veins are different, which is why Dr Aziz offers several minimally invasive treatment options. Radiofrequency Ablation uses heat energy to close larger faulty veins from within. These day procedures may be recommended for veins that are no longer functioning effectively. VenaSeal™ uses a medical adhesive rather than heat to seal the affected vein. For some patients, this may be an alternative that does not routinely require compression stockings after the procedure.
Sclerotherapy injections treat selected varicose veins using a specially prepared solution injected directly into the vein. It may be used on its own or alongside other vein procedures. During your consultation, Dr Aziz will explain which option may be appropriate for your veins and answer any questions you have before treatment is planned.
Experienced Vein Care in New Zealand
Dr Aziz is a New Zealand-trained and New Zealand-registered vascular surgeon who continues to consult regularly in the South Island. He performs both your ultrasound assessment and treatment planning, allowing your options to be discussed during the same consultation.
